History

Hot Summer Nites Rod Run began June of 2006 as a group of people came together with the desire to bring a top class car show to the Norfolk Area.  Norfolk Area Nostaliga Nationals had humble beginnings but with the appearance and support of Boyd Coddington in 2007, we took one step closer to becoming the event you would not want to miss.

We had a great car show with great support in 2009 at the Norfolk Airport.  Appearances by Jo Coddington, after the death of Boyd Coddington last year was a great honor.  We were able to showcase some of his one of a kind cars and people were able to see his works of art.  His  memory will live on in the minds and hearts of those that loved him and in the truly wonderful designs that he created over the years.

This year, 2009 brings a new chapter to the Hot Summer Nites Rod Run.  The past 3 years have been building blocks and stepping stones for our committee and this year we look forward to continuing to provide car show enthusiasts with another great show!

With a change in venue from the Norfolk Airport to Divot's DeVent Center, we will bring car show spectators and participants new amenities and a new look.  We have decreased admission prices, registration fees, and we are offering just as much - if not.....MORE fun!  For more about Divot's, please visit divotsconference.com and you'll be able to view the large outbuildings, beautiful hotel, cemented and fenced in area for the cars, and air conditioning if weather is 'smokin' hot!  There will still be family fun activities, live music on Saturday night, food vendors, burnout contest, cruise night and much more!

Another big change to this year's event will that we will be giving away $5,000 in CASH!  A new award this year....we will be offering a cash prize to the Car Club that represents with the most cars as well!  So - mark your calendars now and get your crew together!  We invite you to join us on another weekend venture with the Hot Summer Nites Car Show & Rod Run in Norfolk!
